Spiders are disliked for a reason. It's usually due a spider's beady looking eyes, their long legs, and the detailed webs they quickly spin to catch their prey.
If you were to get into a conversation with a prepper as to why he doesn't like spiders, he'd probably tell you it's because he never wants to experience being bit by a venomous one. Even though most bites from a spider are harmless, there are still the few well-known spiders that can cause quite the injury.
In particular, a brown recluse spider is one type of spider that causes the bravest of survivalists to squirm just by thinking about encountering one or worse yet, being bit by one.
If a survivalist were to get bit by this dangerous spider, they would need medical attention. However, if they're bugging out and away from civilization, it will be difficult to find a doctor. How should a dangerous situation like this be handled then?

OH, THE BROWN RECLUSE IS SO DANGEROUS – CAN CAUSE DEATH, LOSS OF LIMB, SKIN GRAFTS – I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WENT THRU HELL BECAUSE HE HAD FALLEN ASLEEP IN HIS BASEMENT AND ONE BIT HIM. IT TOOK A LONG TIME IN THE HOSPITAL AND REHAB TO RECOVER FROM IT.

I was bit by a brown recluse ( on my thumb ) even saw the spider on my pillow. The pain was worse then being in labor. (Had three kids) Finally had to go to the emergency room so they could cut the core of the bit out. First symptoms if a bit is flu like symptoms. Chills, headache nausea. Once the core was cut out and given medicine it was OK. Worst pain in my life

Oh, that would be the first thing I do if in this situation….definitely!
….but I think the point of this post was if things happen and a hospital isn’t an option for whatever reason. Sometimes people are put in a position where they have to take care of it themselves. Doesn’t hurt to be prepared for that.
At the rate this country is going, you just never know!
We used a potato . just slice thin pack around the bite n leave on for couple hours . it draws up the venom. May have to repeat depending on the size n how long you’ve had the bite. But it did seem to raise the stuff closet to surface.
Bitten twice, nasty looking wound but only itched a little. Left a scar like a small pox vaccination.
Got bit once painful but rubbing alcohol cleared it up not a mark
oh yuck.. I am deathly afraid of them.

Mix activated charcoal with enough water to make a paste and apply to bite. Cover with Saran Wrap and reapply every half hour. Sleep with it on also.
My husband had a bite from a brown recluse. I nursed it for a long time and it would go away and then later it would reappear .. He finally had it lanced.
