A Survivalist is Bugging Out When a Brown Recluse Bites Him. Here’s How He Should Treat It.

brown recluse spider

Spiders are disliked for a reason. It's usually due a spider's beady looking eyes, their long legs, and the detailed webs they quickly spin to catch their prey.

If you were to get into a conversation with a prepper as to why he doesn't like spiders, he'd probably tell you it's because he never wants to experience being bit by a venomous one. Even though most bites from a spider are harmless, there are still the few well-known spiders that can cause quite the injury.

In particular, a brown recluse spider is one type of spider that causes the bravest of survivalists to squirm just by thinking about encountering one or worse yet, being bit by one.

If a survivalist were to get bit by this dangerous spider, they would need medical attention. However, if they're bugging out and away from civilization, it will be difficult to find a doctor. How should a dangerous situation like this be handled then?

After the break, take the time to learn about what steps must be made in the event of a prepper getting bit by a brown recluse. If you're living off the grid and there isn't any medical care available, knowing how to care properly for the bite can be life-saving.

I was bitten 10 years ago just under the rib cage below my heart. The hole from the bite was large enough to put tour finger in.
My doctor told me to tell everyone that asked about the scar that I was shot since I’m originally from Flint mi

I am not allergic. When I get bit it makes a blister. I pop it and it goes away. Good genetics I guess.

I worked with a guy that lost his safety award one year because a brown recluse bit him. He claimed it wasn’t fair because it wasn’t an accident, the spider but him on purpose. Anyway a plug of flesh the size of a pecan died and rotted and if I remember correctly it required a skin graft to cover the hole. Nasty looking at best.

A poltice of bentonite clay, activated charcoal, (50/50) and we’ll moistened with tea tree oil. Open the wound with vigorous washing early and apply. Bandage to hold firmly in place. Repeat application at 24 hours. Works better than anything medical science has to offer. I know. I’ve used it on myself, and had astoundingly better results than any bite victim I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen many.

Don’t even have Brown Recluses spiders in California. Or west of the Rockies for that matter. If your MD diagnoses you with a bite from one remember that he isn’t an entomologist.

Black sulfur ointment draws the poison out. Works on a lot of bites and especially ticks also.

I’m telling you I’ve been bitten hundreds of times. my mother is totally opposite she has been been bit about four times and it makes holes in her. Mine will look like a spider bite like everyone else’s then form a blister. When I squeeze it it all comes out and heals. I don’t know what to tell ya

I hate these spiders! We just bought a house right in the red zone! I didn’t know about them till after we bought it. And yes they are in this house!!!!!! I have killed 5 live ones and found about 7 big dead dried up ones. Sometimes I am afraid to sleep at night! I won’t even put a dust ruffle on the bed and the bed looks gross (naked) without one! Any suggestions?
