There are many ways to avoid ingesting poisonous plants, the most popular advice being DON’T EAT IT IF YOU AREN’T SURE WHAT IT IS.

You can also cook a small amount of the plant, then hold a small portion of the plant against your lips for three minutes to see if it burns. Then chew the plant without swallowing for 15 minutes – if nothing happens, it might be safe to swallow a small amount, and wait 8 hours for a reaction.

    As a general rule, I don’t eat any white berries. I’m sure there are some that are ok, but I’m not a botanist and the risk isn’t worth the small nutrient intake. No white berries.
