One of the most dependable ways to secure protein, vitamins, and minerals if you are stuck in a survival situation is fish.
Fish live just about everywhere and while some will not be very appealing (like goldfish in an urban pond,) in a pinch, they are available and nourishing, provided you cook them correctly.
In fact, about the only thing more abundant in most environments than fish are rodents and most of us would rather eat a fish than a squirrel, chipmunk or rat.
The trick is catching them.
Hopefully, in a survival situation, you have a full fishing kit, with everything you need, but if not, you do have options.
