Duct tape can be used as a trail maker and if you're lost, you'll know if you've gone the same direction before by marking where you were fifteen minutes earlier. You can also use duct tape to blaze a trail for search and rescue, which may be the perfect way for someone to find you when you're lost.

Fire making isn’t on this list? I’m a logger and make fires at work all winter using duct tape because I can wrap a bunch around a lighter and get some pitch wood and build a very quick fire. Duct tape burns great for those who might not know.

Last year we got caught In a downpour while hiking, boots got total soaked thru. It takes a long time to dry boots out by a fire, so while we waited we made shoes out of duck tape and tree bark. Worked like a champ!
If duck tape can’t fix it, it’s broke!
