Imagine you're your bug out vehicle after a collapse has taken place when all of a sudden in the middle of the night lightning strikes a tree and the tree falls on your car, breaking the window. Now, if you didn't have access to glass to replace your rear windshield, duct tape and a tarp will do just fine. The last thing you need is exposure to the elements when you're counting on your bug out vehicle. Duct tape can help you with that, and more!

Blister care:  Cover the blistered area with a bit of cotton gauze, and tape over the cotton. Make sure that the duct tape fully covers the cotton and doesn’t touch the blister at all.

Create a splint: A broken ankle or leg can be stabilized with ample splint material, padding and duct tape. Pad the crotch of a forked branch with some cloth and duct tape to fashion a quick crutch to go with your splint.

Make a bandage: Fold tissue paper or paper towel to cover the wound and cover this with duct tape.

Tape a broken window:  Before removing broken window glass, crisscross the broken pane with duct tape to hold it all together. This will ensure a shard does not fall out and cut you.

Duct tape can also do wonders with clothing, especially if you're limited on clothes during a SHTF situation. Check out some creative ways to use duct tape to your advantage on your clothing after the break.

Fire making isn’t on this list? I’m a logger and make fires at work all winter using duct tape because I can wrap a bunch around a lighter and get some pitch wood and build a very quick fire. Duct tape burns great for those who might not know.

Last year we got caught In a downpour while hiking, boots got total soaked thru. It takes a long time to dry boots out by a fire, so while we waited we made shoes out of duck tape and tree bark. Worked like a champ!
If duck tape can’t fix it, it’s broke!
