Scott Paddock i worked at a Lincoln dealership. the “ceo” (that’s what he called himself) of the goodwill stores came in and bought and paid cash for 2 loaded to the hilt lincolns for 2 big wigs of the corp. about 120 grand. why? these guys couldn’t drive something that should reflect their willingness to actually do good will. instead they got a really loaded fancy as hell vehicle to ride around and show exactly how they feel and exactly how they help others.”others” translates to “themselves”. yep they have a lot of special needs people employed. but it’s a front….”look at us…we’re doing good”. yep…”good” translates to “themselves”.

I have despised Salvation Army and the Red Cross since the tornado here. SA made 3.8 mill dollars off of our tornado and by 2014 had only put $1 mil back into the community. They do have a nice new place now. Red Cross was a joke. We lost everything and they gave us backpacks w blanket, flashlight, etc.

Goodwill is great for finding cheap but good cooking items and books but nothing else on that list. Camping equipment, blankets, tools are all junk or they would have been gone before you got there.

But you forget about animal rescue groups which get hundreds of millions in donations and all they give in return is promises which they don’t keep.

As much as goodwill can$#%&!@*itself, when I worked security for them I was paid over minimum wage.

Thanks, Chris. Not everyone who works for GW is paid minimum, but most of the front-line workers start there. My main beef is that the guy at the top makes a bundle off the backs of low paid workers and free merchandise.

Tell me anybody that owns a business that is rich doesn’t have employees at the very bottom getting paid minimum wage. All companies are like that.

Bad enough Goodwill is way over priced for a thrift store… With you posting this… Now they are going to up the price on these items… Shady$#%&!@*company

Matthew Thomas, yes he is.. of Goodwill INTERNATIONAL. The guy stated in the idiotic meme has never been the CEO of Goodwill, international or any of the regionals.

The moral of the story is stop believing every MEME you read. 2 minutes of research into the message of that MEME would tell every reader it’s bullshit, but no one bothers to do the research……

Sometimes you do find some things that are pretty good and the prices might be decent ….but I’ve noticed they’re really raising their prices a lot recently

Who finds cast iron at a thrift store?? I check weekly sometimes twice a week and never catch any… but I do have a nice Pyrex and Corning ware collection from 70s and older now

I know I went to a Goodwill store and saw an old electric guitar there.

Thought to myself “if it is $50 or less I’ll snag that up”.

Turned the guitar over to find the price tag and choked when it said $300.

Looked up the guitar online from my phone, it retails new for $200 with free shipping!

Mentioned it to the cashier there, they didn’t give a damn!

Goodwill is not a non-profit. It is a soul proprietorships with a catchy name. It is an evil corporation with one man at the top making millions each year off of basic slave labor that he only pays 25 cents an hour.$#%&!@*Goodwill. Shop at your local thrift, Volunteers of America or better yet, The Salvation Army.

  21. Adam Iller said:

No, goodwill does not do a lot of good. They do the bare minimum to not have to pay taxes & use state labor for 25 cents per hour

  22. Adam Iller said:

Salvation Army is a wonderful organization. Probably the best in the country. Nationwide organization anyway.
