Bear Grylls is well-known for pushing the envelope with his survival techniques and often suffers because of it. Looks like preparing dinner is no different. Watch him try to snag a snake below and quickly suffer the consequences.

Luckily he knew what sort of snake he was grabbing and knew that he was in no real danger. The only real danger was infection; a concern that he quickly eliminated with his rapid first aid. With this video, we can see a few lessons.

The first lesson is that knowing what sort of snake you're grabbing is an extremely important detail to keep in mind (maybe leave the venomous ones alone). The second is that you can almost always find a solution in the immediate vicinity of where the problem arose (the antiseptic plant). And the third is that even an easy meal plucked from a tree can put up a fight.
