(VIDEO) Survivalists Bear Grylls Captures a Snake. Now Watch When the Snake Has Other Ideas…

snake bite born survivor

Usually the worst you have to worry about when having dinner is eating too much and having wicked heartburn or just going to bed with an upset stomach. Or you could burn your tongue.

Very few people these days have to worry about their meal biting back in any other way.

Except Bear Grylls. In his usual fashion, he seeks to satisfy his hunger in new and interesting ways. As usual, things don't quite go according to plan.

Spying a colorful snake hanging out in a tree, he whips out his survival knife and pulls the snake down to make short work of it.

But the snake isn't going down without a fight, and Bear soon finds that a quick bite can often bite back. Watch the scene unfold on this incredible video on the next page.

Like any survival show, you have to be smart enough to filter out the good stuff from the BS, when watching it. I’m not sure there is a TV personality out there that does it right everytime.

That guy is an idiot, he causes half of his own problems, mostly by getting soaking wet, and almost killed himself drinking water squeezed out of elephant dung. Others might not get everything right, but that guy is a hack!

BG does some druid stuff. Totally unnecessary risks in “survival situations.” The thing that gets me is that he probably knows a he’ll of a lot about survival, but I imagine that his producers convince him to do dumb$#%&!@*for ratings. Shock factor etc. The way he felt with this snake wasn’t exactly expert material but he supposedly knew what kind of snake it was and that the threat was very small. Personally I don’t like the way he goes about his survival strategies but I think that when all is said and done he’s probably still a lot better off than most of us.

It’s all about ratings and contracts. He does what he’s told and dude is pretty gnarly for what he does. Fact of the matter is that if he was just sitting in the woods building a shelter, eating barely enough to survive and hoping for the best then there wouldn’t be a show. That being said, yes he is extremely irresponsible and the vast majority should never do what he does (or is told to do anyways) in these situations. Really though all these survival shows are complete nonsense and anyone with half a brain could figure out better ways to relieve themselves of most of his situations.

He creates bad situations so that ye can show us how to deal with them. He isnt stupid.
Perhaps he should explain that he is intentionally making things worse; but i guess he figured that most people would realize that

bear grylls is a fucking retard and if you take survival advice from him you will most likely die. never take uneccesary risks in a survival situation. you’re welcome.

I think Bear Grylls is a great example of what NOT to do in a survival situation. Its all media and commercial hype to sell junk.

  13. Dave Allan said:

I guess he was a lil sloppy with this one, maybe because it was a (non-venomous) racer. .

  14. DB Renolds said:

I agree, so much of his unnecessary risks are for the shows viewer ratings.

Well no video…BUT here on the southeast coast of the U.S. I do this all the time.. It’s really cool with the Chicks when they are scared of a snake and you come back with a 5+ foot Black snake BLEEDING cause it bit me like 5 times catching it.. And say I’m ok it’s not poisonous… Yep I’m the man..

He is showing what’s possible! Through sheer determination and grit. Only fools would think they could do it as well as he can. Read his auto biography before you pass judgment

Bear Grylls is a freaking joke , the only way he should appear on anything titled survival should be for amusement purposes only.

I dont click on you clickbait anymore but I hope it bit him in the sack

He’s a joke. I don’t trust a thing he says, even if it’s verified by dozens of other sources because he takes way to many risks, and does stupid things.

This guy, much like the Alaska bush family, are total frauds.

  24. Dakoda Trimmer said:

This$#%&!@*”free runs” (more like a jump n jog technically) through the bush and loses track of his paths. He even almost ran off a cliff and the crew stupidly followed and the camera man almost didn’t stop fast enough.

He’s always accompanied by film crew and medics (never has to conquer solitude). Plus he always has what he needs (bag, knife, etc.).

But my$#%&!@*Les Stroud does it real survival style. He films himself, the crew gives him$#%&!@*(he never really knows what he’ll have) and he actually spends time with locals and learns about the area and it’s wild edibles, insects and possible dangers. plus hes experienced enough to identify numerous other things like different wild edibles found all over, game tracks, different woods and grasses (flammable and/or medicinal). And he’s out there for a set amount of days and has to be picked up. Bear Grylls get dropped of close to towns, cities and homes. He just has to get to them and boom. Episode over.. that’s not survival, that’s luck. Les Stroud actually teaches you how to forage, hunt and thrive..
