Having a solid collection of guns and a good stack of shells is all well and good, but occasionally you may need to fall back to the old classics.

Using a bow and arrow may be slower than a rifle, with a shorter range, but it has the benefit of being nearly silent, lightweight, and all with the added benefit that you can make your own ammunition from scratch.

Having a bow that will suit your preferences is of course… preferable. If you love the modern luxury of a compound bow, then that's what you should use.

But some prefer the time-tested old school longbow. Making your own bow is a labor-intensive process, but learning the skill will not only give you a tool which is custom built just for you but will also give you a great bartering skill should SHTF.
