You’re Bugging Out When Suddenly You Get Bit by a Brown Recluse Spider. Here’s How You Should Treat It.

brown recluse spider

People fear spiders around the world for a reason. It's usually because spiders have many eyes, legs, and have the capability to create complicated webs that are creepy yet stunning. However, when you ask a prepper what it is they fear about spiders the most, they'll likely say it's because they can bite.

However, even though spiders can bite doesn't mean every spider bite or spider for that matter is dangerous. Luckily when a person has to deal with a spider bite, it's usually only as painful as a mosquito bite.

There are a few spiders in the world that can cause grave discomfort for even the strongest of preppers, however. The brown recluse spider is one such spider that makes just about anyone uneasy. If a survivalist were to get bit by this venomous spider not only would they need to go to the hospital, but receiving the proper treatment is vital.

However, if the collapse is taking place what is a prepper to do?

On the next page, it's in your best interest to uncover what steps you should take if you were to get bit by a brown recluse spider and don't have access to a nearby medical facility during SHTF.

One got me in 1977. Laid on the couch for a month. Dad would cut my arm open most every day. Arm was huge. Still have a hole where it got me.

Bit several times by em. Bring bite to highest temperature you can stand using hot water. No need to scald yourself. This destroys the poison! Not worried about em. Have biggest one i ever seen running around my bedroom. Cannot catch it.

My wife was just recently bitten on her thigh by a Brown Recluse. They have her on some serious antibiotics and seems to be getting a little better. It still looks terrible after almost 2 weeks, but swelling has went down.

Use calcium bentonite clay to draw the poison out. If I get bit, that’s what I will use.

Take a knife and shove it into your heart. This will relieve the pain.

Depends, if I’m bugging out due to a nuclear attack, I think the fun just begun.

I got bit on the right butt cheek 3 consecutive times. The first bite rotted a quarter inch deep and was the size of an old 50 cent piece. Couldnt sit for 2 months. When it was starting to heal I got bit again right next to it. The 2nd one only boiled up and the 3rd one was a week later and wasnt quite as bad as the 2nd one. I used plantain and yarrow to clean it and honey on my bandage. Seemed to work ok along with taking antibiotics. My response is to not get bit by them, it sucks.

Raw bacon wrapped around the bite overnight. Worked for me, though I hate the thought of ruining good bacon.

get a bag of chamomile tea, suck on it till it’s moist, duck tape that to the bitten area. then move along with your day. you may have to apply another later. But it will bull all the venom to the surface and then you can pop it out like a zit. The process takes all day, and sometimes two, but it works like a charm (Y)

  13. Justin Crisp said:

oh and if you’re not in a hurry you can dip the bag in hat water for 5 seconds instead of getting it moist in your mouth.

I’ve noticed a lot of “bugging out” tips are like that, envolving time wasting or buying stuff. pretty ridiculous. I can’t remember trying baking soda, although I’m sure that would work too.

Mud works with bee stings, not sure if it would work for a spider bite.. The mud will draw poison out of the body so it might work..
Baking soda works well..when it dries up, apply more to the same area till its not sore no more..

It’s a real tip that works..

I was bitten last year by a brown recluse and cured it myself (It was quite an ordeal) using herbs and Activated charcoal. first off mix a tablespoon of activated charcoal with water and drink it down. This pulls toxins from inside.
Make a pollutes from activated charcoal and ground up flax seed and water it must be moist so it can dry this is what pulls the poison out (it will be the texture of silly putty) apply this over the bite area that is infected and change every 4 hours. I experimented with the following herbs in different combinations
I now have a “Bite Kit” in my b.o.b. it contains Blood Root, Bentonite Clay, Redmond Clay, Plantain, Comfrey and Black Slave. It’s all healed up now but this is what it looked like about half way through.

It this something you actually did or something you just heard about?

  18. Justin Crisp said:

oh it’s something I’ve actually done (Y). before that I tried the poke and prod method (I have a high tolerance to pain) I was pretty surprised at the results of the chamomile. WAY better method haha

I dug my bite out too for 4 months till I could afford to go to doctor to get antibiotics and then it healed. What a fiasco!

My question is why does it take three pages to say use activated charcoal mixed with water

Truly a bad experience. Bit on finger…skins rots away and you think you will have a hole in your flesh forever. In about a year it all grew back but was the size of a small pea…ugly and took forever to stop weeping and heal Peroxide regularly.

  22. Justin Crisp said:

It’s often sold as an herbal tea. I’ve found that’s the easiest form to use too, less messy (Y) you can find it in just about any store that sells tea.

I have been bitten 3 times by them, did NOT go to the doctors for any of them, dug out the dead skin and poison with a knife

Forwarding this on in E TN where there is an abundance of them!! Also thanks Justin great advice too!

Nothing works better than plantain. Take a plantain leaf, chew it up in your mouth and put the chewed up leaves on the spot you got bit. Put a bandage over it and wrap it and by the next day it will completely be gone

I was bitten the first time and was in hospital for three weeks … The second time I was bit I used tea tree oil and ice packs … I just cleaned the area and re-applied the oil every three hours and kept the ice packs on … This worked for me .

Cleanse with peroxide, then slap some hand sanitizer on it .Might want to have something to bite down on for this step.I broke a tooth off this way.Once the sanitizer dries apply neosporin and bandage. Also if its in a area you can soak in real warm water that helps with the pain
