You Just Got Bit by a Brown Recluse Spider. Here’s How to Effectively Treat it When SHTF.

brown recluse spider

Spiders are one of the greatest fears throughout the world. This may be due to how they walk, the precision with which they build their webs or their many eyes. When you ask most people, though, they are afraid of spiders because of their bites.

In reality, very few spiders throughout the world are in any way dangerous to humans. Although almost all spiders can bite, nearly all of them are about as painful as a mosquito bite.

However, there are a few that will give even the most unsqueamish person pause. The brown recluse is one of them. When bitten by a brown recluse, most people will make an immediate trip to the hospital. Unfortunately, if you're in a bugout situation that may not be an option.

What should you do if you need to treat a brown recluse bite? Take a look at the advice on the next page to find out.

Most of the time you won’t know that you have been bitten until a few days later. Nasty little critters.

If u use 3 drops of honey 3 to 4 times a day changing the bandage it will get the poison out n heal in a few days

Potato pulled poison from both my bites. They scarred, but healed

My method works if you have a high tolerance for pain. Cut it open and remove all puss and blackish poison you can and then clean it and cover. Repeat every other day till redness disappears from bite site. At least this is what i do and it works for me. I usually get bit by these little buggers 5 or more times a year. They must have a taste for redheads since they never bite my wife.

It’s not a life threatening emergency. “Rushing” to the hospital is not only dangerous, but Ill advised.

Had a few friends that didn’t notice for a few days when it started hurting. I’ve been lucky so far.

Still have a hole in my thigh from one of those little bastards.
A lot of people think they have been bitten by a brown recluse, when in actuality he they have a open staph infection.
There have been many wounds blamed on a spider that never existed.

If you have a fresh onion accessible, cut it in half and hold it against the bite. Works with all spiders as far as I know. I’ve seen it work with Recluse, Widow, and Vinager Rune bites

I had been bitten by one before. I didn’t think anything of it that day. 2 days later it started to get infected a Lil bit and I remembered the spider and looked it up, it was a recluse. A friend who is a Dr told me to just keep it clean and watch it. Went away like it was just a big nasty pimple on my leg.

I had a bite on my back that I didn’t notice for a few days, and then I felt a pinching when I dried myself after my shower. There was a big abcess with a black necrotic hole, and I was feeling kind of flu-like. I went to the Dr. that AM and he drained a lot of pus, but it did not hurt a bit like a regular abcess would because the venom had destroyed the nerve endings. Then he treated me with some really potent antibiotics because he said the infection was probably starting into my bloodstream. That hole finally filled in, but it took a long time. He said it could have been a brown recluse, but he was not sure, but whatever it was had venom. Nasty stuff.

Had a friend who about lost his leg but his mom finally found the right herbs to kill the infection. He wound up with a fist sized hole in his leg but after a few years all he has is a big nasty scar. His mom never went to the hospital for religious reasons.

First, I would kill the bastard. No medicinal value but would make me feel better, anyway. I got bit by one and was terrible. I will tear down the house to kill one if I see it.

I was bitten twice by one and the bites where a half inch apart.
If you are bitten by one you will definitely know. The bite area turns black and starts decaying. The longer wait to get treatment the worse it gets.
I had to have surgery to remove dead skin and venom pockets, then a low vacuum suction pump on the wound for about 3 months. It took a year to totally heal, with a big scare to show for it.
    No fun at all!

First thing I do, bite that spider back. The good lord said eye for an eye.

Use the clay but mix it with apple cider vinegar. It will pull the poison out.

I didn’t notice mine for like a week at least, it was nothing bad, just a little dead skin like athetes foot. I live out doors and get bit by various spiders at the time, mostly when I sleep, I have a tolerance for them, in my 46 years on this rock I have never had to visit a doctor for a spider bite.

  20. Jeff Gothro said:

Your friend wouldn’t get help for religious reasons, I shouldn’t touch this topic, but that’s just fucking ignorant stupidity.

I’ve seen more in auto shops and salvage yards than in the woods. I’ve been extremely lucky. I’ve had my fingers and other body parts within an inch of several of the freakish lil bastards. Ild rather deal with a snake than a spider.

Some people believe it’s just God’s will. Only ones I’ve met that actually stick to their faith when it comes down to it were Jehovah’s witness. But looking back it was just a matter of time before God provided for him. He did suffer. I’ve been to to hospital several times with my son thinking he was bit. Drs said recluse bite and treated with strong antibiotics. Wasn’t until I had several spots pop up before I went and had myself checked out when I found out it was a wicked staph infection. Bleached most of my house and haven’t had any more problems.

Good for you, sciences cure’s, prayers and Facebook likes do not, and that’s a fact. Do the right thing friend, always trust in doctors and science, you will be glad you did and won’t have any dead children on your hands (depending on the illness of course).

I avoid hospitals as much as possible. Most doctors are just trying to sell pharmaceuticals that do more harm than good but there are times when you know you’re better off going in.
