No one sets out on a hike or camping trip and intends to get stranded in a winter wonderland, unless winter camping is the entire goal of the trip.

I learned this as a kid playing in the woods. And yes Clay, a crappy shelter.
I do like this site though. Not everyone grew up with woods and a family who primitive camped.
Most of the stuff is just common sense. Are people really so stupid they would sleep directly on freezing ground?
I grew up and live in a place where it never snows, trust me common sense isn’t a given when it comes to environments you have no experience in. Plenty of people with no experience in the desert that underestimate the heat and sun, for example.
