The knife. Where would a survivalist be without one? Having a knife is one of the most useful tools in existence, if not the most incredible tool available. You can hunt with one, have it strapped around your waist for protection, and have it on hand for cutting things such as a rope and even bark off of a tree to make medicine!
The uses for a knife are endless, really, and crafting a knife that you can pass down to your children is all the more motivating to create them on your own time.

Its unknown steel but look up the specs and heat treating info for 5160 steel and treat your aprigs like that stuff and it can make a decent blade

Yea I know Camillus is the original I have an original a new make one and a new one with the rubber grip but there are knock offs that use cheap steel that’s why I asked if never heard of anyone breaking them and I do stuff with this knife that should be done with any knife that’s why I was in shock

Not a gear snob. I’ve owned both Victorinox and Wenger, and Victorinox sucks in comparison.
I feel naked without one. Hell, I feel naked without a gun.
A Leatherman with a locking blade beats them both.
With the exception of a courthouse or an airplane, I can’t imagine why someone would not have one on them at all times. Being from Mississippi, I can’t think of one single man that i have any respect for that doesn’t carry at least a knife at all times.

A little hog sticker i forged from 1065. Nickel silver boulsters. Ebony scales with a high gloss stain. Not the prettiest blade ever, but this combo has bagged me 6 hogs in the last year.
