When SHTF it’s Okay to Chill Out… in This Comfy DIY Survival Chair!

survival camp chair

When packing for a survival situation, one thing that will likely never make it onto the packing list will be a camping chair. Chairs are heavy, take up a lot of space and are unnecessary for keeping you alive.

However, having somewhere comfortable to sit can do wonders for morale as the ground will often be damp and cold or littered with roots and rocks. Most survival kits will have some form of a tarp or length of canvas, which, when combined with a tripod fashioned from sticks in the area can be made into a simple camp chair.

A survival chair like this is great for sitting around a fire or resting from a long hike. This design can easily replace a camp chair in an ordinary camping situation, as well, and will save you extra space when deciding what you should pack for that upcoming backpacking trip.

If you want to learn how to make this simple chair (it only takes a minute or two if you have access to long sticks) watch the video on the next page.
