Imagine you're watching an episode of What Not to Wear that's focusing on survival when all of a sudden the survivalist being judged isn't passing the test. This prepper isn't doing too hot because he made one of the worst wardrobe blunders ever and you'll never guess what he was wearing.
Now, if you were the survivalist guest star in this show, would you pass?
When an EMP strikes or SHTF, you will suddenly find yourself back in the Stone Age. Even though most survivalists will disappear into the woods never to be found again, there will come a time when many preppers who can longer afford to remain “hidden” will run out of supplies and will have to leave their safe haven to get some food or trade to make do.
However, what if you venture out during SHTF only to run into the wrong people? The last thing you should be wearing is something that stands out — instead, you should wear camouflaged clothing so you can remain stealth.
If you find yourself in a similar situation when SHTF, the last thing you should be wearing is full tactical gear. You're familiar with this outfit — a military grade face mask with a camo shirt, pants, and of course, plenty of weapons.
If you're this kind of prepper you're pretty much going to be SOL. Sorry, but it's the truth.
To see what you should be wearing as opposed to standing out like a sore thumb during a pivotal survival moment, watch the video on the next page.

Thank you for the valuable share.
A true prepper is totally self reliant , should NEVER have to “run out” of anything ! And you call yourself Die Hard !
lies.
Pure nonsense.
You should never be caught, period.
I will be wearing my enemies clothing to blend in… Hitman style!
You guys are ruining your page even more.
You can wear anything your still a target
You believe what you want and I’ll believe what I want. When there’s a escalated chance that the bullets are gonna start flying I’d rather be the one wearing plates and have the means to return effective fire on my way out of dodge.
What a load of bollocks. Get your act together Die Hard Survivor your slowly getting worse.
I am going to dress up as a clown .
Everyone loves clowns .
You got the idea
In a SHTF situation, you want to become a “gray man.” Or woman. In a sense, you want to be so unnoticeable that nobody could even pick out your face in a lineup.
When you don full tactical gear or any military or militia uniform, what you are saying to the military, police and the populace as a whole that you are armed and are likely very dangerous.
In these events, police and military will be doing everything they can to reduce the threat to the public, and seeing someone on the streets who is packing a noticeable weapon and looks ready for trouble will definitely catch their attention. With tensions high, the best thing you can do is never be noticed in the first place.
Dont wear my blaze orange tux hacket with sparkling rinestone pants…..check!
Load in light layers, cover any body art, no brights, no name plates, no numbers, insignias or logos. Aim to blend in with the crowd or surroundings and leave little impact, meaning not to be remembered by people you encounter or able to be picked out of the crowd. This applies to habits as well as your image, meaning if you’re a chain smoker, restless legs, whistler, snacker, talker, and so on…. check yourself.
No way! Go out in full Tac gear.
Knowledge.
You must be able to effectively execute obfuscation, distraction, or a change of appearance. Sometimes all at once or repeatedly. Hence why I started by saying “load in light layers”.
Not everyone is experienced with SERE & MOUT, but there are plenty of shadowing techniques that help.
