Disasters can happen in all shapes and sizes. You might even know when to expect them, and have their arrival looming over you as you attempt to prepare accordingly.

And then there are the types of disasters where you have absolutely no notice, and your left to your own devices, hoping that you know enough to make it through in one piece.

One thing that can help you in the event of a collapse (which can fall into either category – expected, or unannounced) is ensuring that you have the proper backup.

Having the proper backup means that you establish connections with your network of support – neighbors, friends, family. After all, someone needs to have your back when the world is falling apart around you!
