What Makes This Colorado Tunnel Haunted and Why it Scares People

haunted gold camp

Back in the olden days, when our country was in its infancy when men, women, and children were working their way west in search of gold and a new way of life, ghost stories were often told on the trail. They would sit around the campfire and while hoping to not have run-ins with peeved Native Americans, men would spin yarns about ghosts and goblins. It was a nice and exciting way to while away the time – often better than many movies we watch today!

While so many of these tales were fanciful, stories told from one generation to the other, and probably embellished a LOT over the years, we have to think there is a grain of truth in every ghost story imparted. Often sources can be found on some ghost stories and they are chilling!

This is what makes the Colorado tunnel haunting so frightening.

Men died while constructing it. No, it is not the only tunnel created where that happened. Many hundreds of men died while tunneling and using dynamite, but the real haunting of this area comes from a fairly recent source. It includes falling rock and a school bus. Sad to be certain but also very eerie and, some say, the tunnel has its ghost all in a row.

Go over to the next page and read-up on this and why it scares even the bravest of men and women.
