Truthfully, we are not sure we want assault rifles in everyone’s hands. We see evidence every week of a crazy with a rifle going into public places, hurting and killing people. Yet, we cannot disregard the constitution and “the right to bear arms.”

Again, it is controversial and until there comes a day when we can be sure nut cases, opposed to the patriots, preppers, and survivalists we write about in these pages, do not get their hands on weapons it will remain a provocative topic.

Meanwhile, for the best of us, let’s keep our rifles close and our rights even closer.
