Having a gasoline generator is invaluable if you lose power a lot.

It could be a life saver if you were facing a critical survival crisis – like a blizzard in the middle of January or long-term survival aftermath as happened after Hurricane Katrina.

But generators come with two main complaints (except for the idiots that run them inside their homes and die from the exhaust, but that is another story.)

They use a fair amount of gasoline and that has to be replenished if the survival situation you are facing is long enough.

They are very noisy.
