This is not so much a “survival article” so much as an interesting concept that may have broader applications for those looking for a more sustainable lifestyle, be it in preparation for dramatic changes or just because a sustainable lifestyle is an admirable goal.

The tubular glass house is the design and creation of architect Aibek Almassov, who has been actively seeking investors. One potential investor makes glass panels with transparent solar panels. Another makes solar panels.

Almassov's concept was to create an “inverted tree house” that provided city dwellers a respite from the sweltering “concrete jungle” of city life.

While the concept is ambitious, to say the least, the utilization of the various sustainable components and building materials have other applications.
