It's hard to imagine SHTF when it's in the middle of winter time, but the truth is when Doomsday arrives you have to be prepared for every possible circumstance and weather. If you must flee from your home to bug out, you'll need to know how to survive.
When bugging out and making your camp outside is the only option, you need a backup shelter. This is in case you have to sleep on the ground even when it is covered in snow, and there aren't a lot of supplies (i.e., trees), making it harder to build a shelter.
If there isn't a tent available and making a fire is challenging in these conditions, surviving the night can seem impossible. Though, with just a few survival blankets you can not only survive the night but stay warm too.
In fact, survival blankets may be one of the most relevant survival items you can have when SHTF.
