One of your best friends in a survival situation will be any of the series of traps you may use to acquire food for yourself and your hungry family. This may be a series of snares, small metal traps like fur traders would use, or a set of deadfalls.

However, the main problem with many of those traps is that they are designed to take down small game, often no larger than a rabbit. This isn't much of a problem if you are hunting for only yourself, but if you have a group to support, it won't be long before you start wishing you had a way to take down game that can provide food for weeks, like a deer.

While you could go hunting with a gun (if you have one) or a bow or spear, chances are your stumbling around in the woods won't do much to fill your stomach.

Luckily, for large game, there is a trap that works exceptionally well. Learn how to build it from scratch in the video on the next page.

Interesting concept but not the best video. After watching it I still don’t know exactly how the trigger works or how the arrow is nocked.

again worthless, if you’re a good enough woodsman to be able to track then you wont be using such a ridiculous noob setup
