While intruders could simply be travelers looking for a roof as they pass through, they could also just as easily be thieves looking to steal what you have and harm your family.

You may be wondering what good a visual tripwire alarm is when you could just as easily have a very loud alarm set up out there. What would make this alarm useful is if you had a wide expanse of open land.
An auditory alarm would be virtually useless as the sound would echo and if you had a lot of tripwires set up, it would be very difficult to determine where the intruder is coming from.
However, with this version, a plume of colored smoke or water would shoot into the air exactly where the intruder is, allowing you to place them in your sights.
In the night time, you could also place some sort of glowing ball in the alarm that would fire into the air if the alarm was tripped.

this is severely useless for anything other than trying to impress people who are utterly clueless. Don’t think this will do anything but alert intruders that there is something nearby they want to protect. You on the other hand would have to be standing nearly right next to it for it to be noticed. Stupid idea unless you are doing arts and crafts for the kids.
