(Video) When I Heard About This Unbelievable Fire Starter, I Put it in Bug Out Bag Right Away!

boosting-a-fire-start

All preppers know that many of supplies we stockpile serve more than one and probably many purposes. This is because we need to have many different options for doing the same thing in case our first option doesn't work. This is especially true when starting a fire in bad weather.

In this Fat Guys in the Woods video, this guy shows us how to boost a fire start using an unexpected item and it's amazing!

The way petroleum jelly based antibiotic ointment boosted the fire on that tinder bundle was amazing! It didn't take much and that fire was burning stronger and easier than the tinder bundle with nothing added.

You will definitely want to have this in your bug out gear if you need to start a fire in the rain or snow. It will make things much easier and will you time so you can start cooking your food and getting warm faster!

    The “secret” is Vaseline.

The video they want you to look at says petroleum jelly-based ointment, but just a simple dab of Vaseline on a cotton ball or tinder will do the trick.

Fuzz up some fatwood and you’re good to go.. Don’t forget you can get endless supplies of pitchwood from the forest around you, year round unlike petroleum jelly.

He put more than just some in the bundle. Look, the tube is almost empty. He almost needed that ointment for his fingers. He just about cut himself. Just carry some “Wetfire”.

Yes I even keep some sap on hand in my bag for wet conditions. Great.that and I’m not around to much pine around here.
