Making creative use of the resources at your disposal is one of the key components of surviving post-SHTF.

Also on that list is the ability to make use of new skills to accomplish the new goals that will present themselves in that SHTF world.

The best way to prepare for this is to practice these skills today. One such skill is being able to heat metals to such intense temperatures that they melt so that you can pour them into a mold for tools or blades.

In the tutorial on the next page, you can learn how to make one of these forges in a way that utilizes things you would be likely to have on hand in a SHTF scenario, such as a coffee can, some bolts, gardening perlite and a gas torch.

To learn how to make this really useful DIY project, watch the video on the next page.

When I was researching how to make a forge on YouTube I came across this one. There is a bigger version where they use a stainless steel garbage can.
