This carver's knife has many applications.

I could have used it last week, for example, when I was cutting out divots in a piece of wood; this knife would have made things go much easier and the end product would have been more streamlined and smooth.

In a survival situation you may need to fashion utensils and bowls out of wood, in which case this carver's knife would be really handy.

But more likely, you would use this tool in other ways when you needed to divot or groove a piece of wood.
