Here are three true-life stories told to us in good humor from men who may know a little about surviving – in a vlogging world! The stories themselves are fascinating, why these people were left where they were, and how they survived!

Our hosts don’t mention it but that last story was the basis for the novel, “Island of the Blue Dolphin” which, when we were young, was “must read” material in schools.

The story is the same about a young girl, surviving by herself on a remote island for nearly twenty years when her people are slaughtered by island tradesmen. It is a spirited and gripping tale and, indeed, very sad to know this real-life heroine, who became a survivalist woman, did indeed die shortly after she was “rescued.” We wonder how long she would have survived if she continued to live her own on the island. Probably a long, long time!
