Survival knives are to preppers as bread is to butter. This statement doesn't just extend to preppers, though. A good survival knife is equally important to outdoorsmen, backpackers, serious campers, and many other nature-centric hobbies and fields.

For most survival knives, there are only two basic designs: the large and robust blade that is equally good at chopping down small trees as it is preparing game for cooking, and the smaller minimalist knives used for more intricate tasks and carried in many more places.

Now there is a new player on the field, and its unique design is reminiscent of the primitive stone tools our ancestors used to use for every single task.

Check out this brand new tool and how you can use it to your advantage on the next page.

Fremont Knives is right up the road from me. I have a Farson Hatchet, similar to this. They are awesome tools

That is my one complaint about mine, though it takes an edge and holds it fairly well. A bit more effort and finesse to get an edge back on in. It is tougher than I expected though.

As a light weight back up tool in your pack, looks good. It has the potential to injure the user unless they are careful,I will stick with a hilted knife and separate hatchet to keep my old digits out of harms way.
