Having a bug out bag may be something that many people deem to be the habit of eccentric or insane conspiracy theorists and individuals who are just inherently paranoid. That is, until a terrorist attack, natural disaster, economic collapse, food shortage, fuel shortage, social unrest, or martial law, all of which have happened at one point or another in our nation's history.

With this in mind, it's foolish–even insane–not to have a bug out bag ready. Having the essentials ready in an easy-to-grab pack that you can toss in your car on the way out of the city is far better than having to dig around for things that you're not even sure you have to get stuck on the highway because you took too long.
