As a survivalist, there are certain things you need to practice while out in the wilderness. Shelter-building is one of them. Even the simplest of shelters have a learning curve.

As a prepper it's a good move to take a random weekend, fill up your backpack with tools and food, and go to your favorite camping spot in the deep, dark woods. Once there, be inventive and practice building a shelter!

If you’ve never done one before and are lacking space in your bug-out bag, we think the tarp-tent idea on page two is the best first try there is! It’s relatively easy, you are not using logs or heavy tools, and the “clean up” is pretty simple!
