Sometimes the old, traditional way of doing this is the best way of doing things. If you’re looking for a different shelter structure to try, take a look at the wattle and daub hut.

Native Americans utilized this style of housing across the prairies of the Southeastern Plains. A wattle and daub hut is a structure composed of twigs (wattle) and mud (daub).

Sticks and logs were used as poles, and the roof was composed of thatched leaves, bark or grass. When colonists settled in the United States, they utilized this structure as well.

So, are you wondering how complicated it is? Not to fear. You can construct your entire wattle and daub hut by yourself in the wild, using primitive tools just like this survivor did. Take a look at the video after the break to find out how he did it!
