When you’re on your own on a wilderness journey, there’s no one looking out for you. That should be obvious.

A solo trip into the unknown can be an amazing experience to open your eyes and find out what you’re really made of, like which survival skills you’ve accomplished and which ones you’re still lacking on.

It can be the time in your life where you confront nature with nothing other than your skills and your supplies, the time to prove to yourself that you are so much more than modern conveniences and technology.

Or, it can be a disaster. We hear horror stories, the kind that they make into films like 127 Hours or Into the Wild. Ones that might not be very pretty because let’s be honest, not everyone is cut out to go off into the unknown.
