(VIDEO) This Prepper’s Idea for an Emergency Shelter is Mind-Boggling. Check it Out!

In bad weather or wind, shelter is pretty much the most important thing you can have. You will die of exposure far more quickly than you will die of starvation or illness.

With that in mind, there are a lot of options out there as to what sort of shelter you want to rely on in an emergency situation. Most people turn to tents as their go-to bug out shelter if they don't have a separate bug out home. However, the one problem tents have is that they are designed to be portable, meaning that they don't have rigid walls and can only stand up to certain elements.

With that in mind, a man decided to take the concept of portability and the concept of sturdiness and combine them into an impressive structure that is sure to meet all your minimal bug out requirements.

You got that right brother! 53 square feet unless you have a big house. Did it for 18 years. Last 5 with wife and 3 dachshunds. Had a blast!

You need room to exercise and stretch, my retreat is tight but if it’s really bad upside , one must plan for at least six months.

All you really need is a place to lay your head and stay out of the elements. Much better than a tent except the portability aspect.

I think its a great idea to be ready for anything to happen but I am away from home half if not more than I am at home my luck all hell will break loose when I’m not home !

sorry, not a prepper-hab. possible temp-help for homeless? absolutely. but this is not really anything for real “just in case” use. just a hard-shell tent.

I think in a colder climate this design would have a serious condensation problem.

I can see the practical use for homeless, or large scale emergencies. Temporary emergency shelter…keyword TEMPORARY.
Quite frankly, I would not use it. My personal skillset is right high.
If need be, I can move freely in a NBC enviroment, and this would be too bulky for my tastes.

Needs to be at least two or three times that size, and have some insulation.

With a microwave and coffee maker, tv, air conditioning and heat… The perfect shelter.

I got tired of the decomp chamber quick. Have stayed in a tent in a blizzard for 3 days, I’ll just stay in me little cabin at 10,000 feet.

I’m happy for him that he didn’t spend the time making it big enough for more than one person because no one will want to sleep in there with that loser.

May be the dumbest man to ever post a video.
I was in Louisiana during Katrina and Rita. The people from New Orleans were complaining because they were 3 or 4 sharing a hotel room. Do you really think people like that would live in something like this?

If it is not bullet proof it is useless if robbers and thugs driftring around preying on people happen by. It is too small for more than overnight

I don’t want to be confined to a small space if things truly go bad. What is the point of being around if the world truly collapses?
