Having a place to go in the event of any form of disaster, from economic meltdown to the impending visit from the in-laws, is the fevered dream of many preppers.
We envision a quiet place to go away from the hustle and bustle and madness of people in the city, a place where we are protected with double-locked doors and maybe even an underground panic room. In reality, most bug out locations aren't quite that secure, but they don't have to be. Just having a place that nobody else knows about is far more than most people have.
Secrecy is the name of the game for preppers. Keeping your plans secret, your supplies secret, and, most of all, your bug out location secret is tantamount to good prepping. For that reason, we don't often get to see what different preppers' bug out cabins look like.
