Hacks are wonderful, particularly when they are created by everyday ordinary people who simply have an idea that is perfectly acceptable – and works incredibly well!
In this case, it is a fire tinder hack that is amazing. It can be prepared ahead of time and stored away, just to be popped into your bug-out bag when you decide to take a practice run into the wilderness for a night or two!
All it takes is some basic things you have around the home. Dyer lint, toilet paper rolls, and even some number 2 pencil shavings! Oh, and let’s not forget some wax!
After the break, go on over to the next page and watch this video, showing you a great new hack for fire tinder. You may think you have all you need as far as tinder but this one is going to surprise you!

I have been making fire starters like this for a few years, here is a video I made a while back on making them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=921TlTtfKYg&t=78s
good ideas
If you have a gas dryer or you will have lint, o as it my fucking electric dryer doesn’t have any dumbass
Crack a flashlight lightbulb without damaging the elemint, and you have a lighter.
1: your comment makes no sense…. 2: an electric dryer has gets lint also.
EXACTLY…
UNDER THE VIDEO IT SAYS
Who doesn’t have the things shown in the above video? If you have children you will always have pencil shavings. If you have a GAS DRYER, you know lint is always there on the tray and that toilet paper role…?!
The word “hack” really has lost all meaning
Spit it the hell out damn it! You should drink some red bull or something!
Yep, friend of mine been making them for yrs, saw dust and wax in card board egg cartons. Of I remember right saw dust has a little diesel fuel in it.
This is great. I am in a mountain unit that is in the mountains all the time. We need a way to make a fire that will light quick so we can boil water. This is quick efficient and small enough to throw in your pack. Thanks.
Graphite uses more energy to oxidize than it gives off. Many forms of carbon burn nicely, but do NOT include graphite in your firestarters.
Got about a hundred of those made up and stored for future use.
If your gonna pack them around all the time why not just pack a small bottle of cooking oil around works great for starting camp fires without going through all the trouble?
Great idea but where will we get the ingredients from after shtf? Why would anyone add that much weight to be carried around? A zippo lighter, lighter fluid, and flints would be better but they have plenty of other alternatives.
Use cotton balls and vasoline. Less weight
Cool!
To the original poster…..why are you blown away and why is this a “hack”…?
Too long..
