(Video) This Man Lived Alone in the Alaskan Wilderness. Now Listen to His Story and be in Awe…

Mr. Proenneke filmed his undertaking and film-maker Bob Swerer has taken the best footage from Dick's films!  “Alone in the Wilderness” is a must see for any survivalist!

Like you, we were disappointed we only got to see ten minutes of this hours long saga. It really is interesting and we grew more excited as we watched him fitting the logs together to build his new cabin. How lucky for him though that he had another to rest in while he worked.

We tend to wonder how we would react to live like this, alone with a lot of hard work, for a year but he seems to go into it with a great attitude. He’s doing what he loves!

Buy the DVD! I have both of him filming it back in the 60s and another when a film crew went out while he was in his 80s. Quite the man!

Albert Patty Actually more like 37 billion acres of land. That’s total land mass. That doesn’t mean all that land is habitable or arable.

Solitude is different, most humans get cabin fever rather quickly, social interaction is a necessity for 99% of our society.staying 30 years in a forbearing climate -50 below for weeks, minimal interaction with his brother and the restocker plane pilot.
