When we talk about survival the first thing that comes to most minds is subsisting in the wilderness, or finding our way after a catastrophic natural disaster, but there is more to it than that. It seems silly to say calamities come in all shapes and sizes but that really is a true statement.

The one thing we do not discuss enough is water danger. It is not so much the bacteria that can be found in lakes or streams or even the potentially polluted vegetation that you may or may not want to add to a camp-side salad.

What concerns us, for this article, is the dangers of the open sea. Most specifically, sharks and the havoc they can cause. To say they are dangerous is an understatement. If a shark is hungry enough and feels its prey is susceptible to being taken down they will, indeed, do what their nature tells them to do!
