Being able to survive with just your knowledge and instincts in the wild is a pretty amazing skill.

Understanding that your surroundings provide you ample resources and opportunity to survive – as long as you know how to use those resources is invaluable to making it through a survival situation.

This amazingly talented guy is building an awesome thatch hut in a tropical area – using natural fauna as his building materials, but the basic design concept of his hut is applicable just about everywhere.

His hut is one hundred percent natural, but you also could “cheat” by using some man-made materials (such as rope or twine instead of vines if you do not have any vines around you.
