Through the years the recession has affected a lot of people, resulting in a prepping movement. Survivalists who have personally dealt with the results of an economic shift have begun to create ways of preparing for a collapse and also have created new ways of being frugal.
The recession also resulted in a trend called tiny homes. Even though today the recession seems to be receding, tiny home continue to grow in popularity. In fact, more and more preppers are taking advantage of this beneficial way of living.
Not only is it a great way for them to live, but they're saving a lot of money in the process!
In today's world heating and electricity are less expensive and thankfully, building homes is too. Tiny homes are so small that homeowners can go wherever they like, which is another advantage of building this type of home.
On the video on the next page, check out a 168-foot-square-foot home a family built due to the recession. Instead of losing all hope when they had to shut down their restaurant, they thought outside the box and created a home they could afford!

Small houses are not new in the 1800 they were called frontier homes or settlers cabins. because the length and weight plus how many you had helping build it determined size of the trees you used. They are ok in summer s you can be outside doing other thing but in the winter they became cramped fast and the word “cabin fever” is very real.
For what it’s worth if I was doing that I would make an earth ship. That can be a preppers dream. It would be much bigger and easier to heat and cool plus it uses a rain water collection system in the build. Worth looking into.

Am I the only one who thinks the children ( 1 boy 1 girl) are much to old to be sharing such a small space!???? Looks like mommy and daddy need to turn that couch into a bed and give the daughter the other space wtf!?

Being rent or mortgage free gives a person a lot more disposable income.
