So when the sun eats these bags away, your home turns into a big mudslide…??

All plastic is subject to sun, heat and weather rot, I wonder what happens when those bags are compromised and the rains come? Is there portland mix in the bags?

Cool, until the county gets wind of it and makes you tear it down

Portland would be a good idea . I was thinking quickcrete might work too. And I didn’t see how they secured the roof. It looked like it was just gravity. Not good in an Alaskan winter

Lol the plastic bag look isn’t the finish product. I think you do like a stucco or something like that.

Living in the wrong county lol sure it will be under state or federal law soon though.

No, it doesn’t… You’re supposed to stucco or kind of plaster over it using a clay and sand mixture, kind of like Adobe, or Cob then paint over that, or use some type of sealer…It will last for 100 years or better and be super insulated…Great low cost building method, but kinda’ labor intensive.

Aren’t the bags just going to discintigrate after the sun destroys them?

I”m not quite seeing how this is practical. There’s little support, the elements are going to eventually tear through those bags and there’s no real protection since the windows and doors aren’t actually held in there by anything other than bags. Are they planning on using adobe or something else to actually cover the bags?

Notice it is refereed to as an “Earthbag” home instead of a “Dirtbag” home:)

Cool idea, but I do know water beats dirt, nothing beats block and steel,
I’m absolutely in love with block.
