Often, during our hiking, camping and hunting trips we stay a night or two in the big dark woods, snug in our tents and sleeping bags. How often, laying there, do we hear mysterious sounds that make us wonder if we are alone?

We know there are animals out there but the things our imaginations bring about is the stuff of nightmares; oh the stories we can tell!

Here are three stories from hunters that seem like prime “stories around the campfire” fodder. Are they real? Some insist the stories are while others are skeptical. We remain non-committal – but cautious.
