
Let's face it, nature has been trying to kill human beings for as long as there has been human beings on the planet.
Animals that want to eat us, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, avalanches, violent storms, natural poisons found in plants and some animal skin and venom, bacteria, viruses, you name it, nature seems out to get us.
While we have made great strides in combating these threats, they pervade and are exacerbated under the stress of a survival situation.
This is particularly true if you find yourself in one of the areas of the country that specializes in certain types of nature's deadly ways.
You do not have to worry about the Cone Snail in New England, for instance, but severe cold is common. Hypothermia is not a huge threat in the South or Southwest, but severe weather can be.
