One of the most common mistakes survivalists, new and experience, make is to build a bug-out bag that does not meet the survival needs they will face.

They usually do one of three things.

They over-prepare and end up with a bug out bag that has just about everything you can imagine. This leads to having too much stuff to lug around “on the sly” and that can attract unwanted attention.

They under-prepare and end up not having the critical supplies they need to get to a place of safety. The problem with this is self-obvious; not having what you need when you really need it could be deadly.

Or, they prepare for scenarios that they just are not likely to experience. Not only does this lead to being overly conspicuous, but it also can lead to a false sense of security.
