Hey, it works. I’d go with a different tarp though. The cheap blue ones just don’t last. There are many different ways to use a tarp. I prefer a larger one that I can fold in half and have a floor. A good oil cloth tarp is very expensive but will last a lifetime if you take modest care of it.

For buying anything online, get a pre-paid visa/mastercard, put only the amount of money on it that you plan to spend on an item and use that card to pay with. Never use your bank debit card or credit card online!

I learned when i was a kid ( dad was a cop) it’s quite easy once you figure it out

Great idea. And I’m sure it was just a “how to” rundown, but those little sticks in the ground won’t hold well. Specially when most storms bring wind. Great concept tho!

This isn’t the quickest or most efficient way.

    1. Lay out tarp.
    2. Lay on tarp.
    3. Roll up in tarp.

And there you go, you have yourself a damn near instant shelter. Yes it will look like a dumpster fire, but it will work.

I’ve done this for years. It really works best with parachord. Thicker cordage may not pass through the eye. Thinner (like bank line that I use a lot) may be too thin. Parachord does stretch so be prepared for that.

What if it raining? Water WILL find its way into the human burrito!

Well that all depends. You could post up under the heavy canopy of a spruce tree. Or you could just fold it over at the top and bottom. Granted those are extra steps. But the post never said anything about it needing to be waterproof.
