Blacksmithing is one of those skills we take for granted in the age of automation.

If we were to face a long-term survival situation, however, knowing how to do basic blacksmithing could be invaluable; check out the video to see this craftsman's amazing skills.

Granted, the knife is cool, but in a survival situation, not that practical.

Knowing the basics of how to heat and mold metal, however, is a skill that you could find invaluable in a survival situation.

I've used basic blacksmithing skills to bend and re-bend pins for farming equipment and for my mower.

    A rail road spike is actually barely good enough to make a suitable knife you thould make it from saw blades heavy springs from suspension and ect.
