There are three types who fill out the “survival preparedness” equation.

The first is the hardcore survivalist that is getting ready for a long-term, draconian survival incident that changes life as we know it.

The second is the person who is preparing for the occasional and temporary inconvenience usually caused by weather.

In the middle of all of that, is most of us – those who prepare for a longer-than-a-few-days scenario, but do not have a year's worth of food and water stocked away.

These groups “cross streams” in terms of survival items each should have on hand should they be faced with the scenario they are preparing for.

The items that must be stockpiled include dry and canned goods and other easily stockpiled foods, but you must get them beforehand as they will quickly run out in most groceries during a real survival scenario.

To see what you must keep in stock, check out the video on the next page.

5 to 10 years of stored in cool dry place. This is for non acidic foods. Although I read something a while back that 20 year old corn and green beans was opened and tested and it was fine.
