Money. In our modern, consumer-driven society, it can seem like monetary currency is what makes the world go round. But what happens when that society is completely turned upside down?
Do we abandon the ritual of exchanging money for products, supplies, and services? Or do we keep going on, as we always have?
In a SHTF moment, it can be quite a predicament. Some preppers believe that money will be obsolete. They also believe that other items will take precedence for bartering purposes – things like food, weapons, supplies, etc.
Others argue that it will become one of the most important things if a disaster strikes and that it will remain essential as long as civilization stays in tact.
So which should we prepare for??
This survivalist gives us his answer to the debate. Check out the video on the next page!

Not paper money!!! It will be worthless
Paper money will be of value, but only for a very limited time after shtf. I say two weeks tops people will still accept it as currency. After that though, precious metals will be king. Never barter ammunition.
Have good barter items on hand, you know the staple things. I have stock of long life food products, tp, batteries, etc.
NO LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND “MONEY IS JUST GREASE”
The people who are not prepared will want your stuff.
Spend it all on Toilet paper.. That will gain value as we go along..
Tulammo (cheap russian made .223 and 9mm) I won’t put it in my weapons but that is fantastic currency.
Don’t trade FOOD
Question , what would you use as barter?
Money in a the post Nixon world is based on how much infastructur (buildings) a county has, is how much money they can print. If a earthquake levels the building….your money is worth nothing.
Gold…you can’t eat gold.
The intancic value of gold is only when luxuries are available.
Nothing wrong with that ammo . All mine shoot it just fine .
It jams my ar-556, and I’ve had a few misfires. Also the metal rounds are not good for my bore.
TP: true paper money.
The ‘metal’ rounds are copper plated lead and wont damage the bore . Not sure what ammo you found but i have never seen solid steel bullets, steel core maybe but they at least have lead round them.
Money is useless silver gold lead brass seeds
Have to disagree with this money thing…yes ill save a bit at home….maybe 6 mo worth….but after that if what i believe is coming down the road in the near future i will continue to invest in guns/ammo and survival needs…..
These are keepers. More than likely the ones you’re talking about. still not my primary choice of ammo. The others that I can pick up with a magnet are the ones that go in my last resort pile. They’re not jacketed. They are about $75 for 500 rounds.

SHTF can come in many forms. Two years ago, a lady hit me while riding my motorcycle. I’ve spent the past two years unable to work….
Luckily we were prepped in both food and cash on hand to survive those two years !
that will be the best thing about the apocalypse, NO MORE MONEY. see now the value of a man will be based on his word, deeds, skills, things of that nature. A scrawny dork won’t be worth his salt, but in today’s society he can be the “richest” man in the world, CAN’T WAIT for that.
Bi-metal jackets. Not full copper.
Sounds good to me…i taught all my kids to build…fix…and make what they need…my daughter is an avid hunter and fisherman…she is a welder by trade and the top welder in her factory …
