Our friend Survival Lilly is back and today she's sharing a terrific do it yourself element that can be created with a knife, stick, pine cone, and a little resin!

Sometimes you need a little fire. No, we’re not talking about a campfire. We are talking about a torch. Something you can plunge into the ground near your campsite as a beacon or something you can carry with you during a nighttime emergency. Maybe one evening you discover you are out of

Maybe one evening you discover you are out of water, which means you will need to make a run to the nearby creek for a little refreshment.

But wait, the wind is blowing and it looks like it’s going to rain – a distinct mist is in the air – what about that torch? How will it last? It will for a good amount of time; enough for you to get your project done and return to camp in time for the evening meal or to hunker down in your warm sleeping bag and shelter!

Go on over to the next page and join Lilly for a terrific project that could serve you very well if you find yourself out in the middle of the wilderness without any sustained light!

Does seem like a lot of work for only 5 minutes of burn but when in dire need it would work. Thanks it was a good video.

lol “flaming pinecones” one of the other stories of my Boy Scout troop. We were baad kids. A catapult made from saplings, these things, and we were lobbing flaming pinecones into stone “forts” next to the river. Hey we were aiming where there wasn’t vegetation so what could happen, right? LOL
