America, and indeed many Western countries, is no stranger to the dangers of a terrorist attack. The unfortunate reality is that many of these attacks are carried out in places in which it is impossible for civilians to defend themselves; places like planes, military bases, and movie theaters.

Another unfortunate reality is that many attacks which could be seen as terroristic in nature are not carried out by jihadists, but by our own people who have grown so fed up with the world and their lives that they decide to throw it all away in the most damaging way possible.
